Quarter-life crisis??!! Not really..

Note: The following post is.. ah, forget it! Anyway you are all gonna read it. Go on..

I just slid in to 25, this 25th. Been around for 25 years. Okay, I’m gonna stop saying that again and again, because its making me sadder. Nevertheless I’ve reached that age, when I’m forced(by everyone asking me, So you are TWENTY FIVE?) to look at my past.

I did revisit my past and the “About me” was changed as a result of that. And I was hit by this crisis, which I would like to call “Quarter-life crisis”. If there is a mid-life crisis, then I’m allowed to have “Quarter-life crisis”. 🙂 I did. Suddenly the world seemed to be going too fast, the time flying away, the life draining out of me.

But I’ve always been a believer in God. And as I was about to regret my past, I told myself to rationally think and not hurry in to regretting, which I’ll regret later. As I was thinking about that, God sent me an angel – a friend. I told her about the “quarter-life crisis”. I call her an angel, not because she listened to me but because she gave me the God sent word. She told me to look up Jeremiah 29:11 (from the Bible) and it says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

And happiness!! 🙂

I read this in one of my friend’s Facebook status “You never know what is enough until you know what is more than enough”. In my case it’ll be “God made sure that I got just enough, so that I’ll appreciate it better when he decided to give me more than enough”. Looking back, I see that every experience has strengthened me more. I believe in God, that does not mean I do not go through problems, I do go through them but I always know that He is around and He never forsakes. I’m sure I wouldn’t have this faith, hence the peace that comes with it, if I hadn’t gone through the problems and experienced my God’s presence.

Quarter-life crisis?? Me? Not really. With God’s grace, I’ve lived every moment of my past 25 years and I plan to do the same in the future. Because I have the God who said “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” 🙂

Cheers
Sam Jayanth
